Chapter 1: the Apple App Store release
Video can be useful, joyful, and part of a family routine. It can also become difficult to manage when a child moves from one recommendation to the next without a parent deciding what should be available.
VioFamily starts with a smaller idea: parents approve the videos, playlists, or channels they are comfortable including, and children watch inside that family list. It is designed for families who want a calmer alternative to open browsing.
The first public milestone is complete: VioFamily was released on the Apple App Store on July 31, 2026. This launch note starts with what shipped there and how a family can begin.
What was included at launch
- A parent-approved video list. Add trusted YouTube links and decide what belongs in the family space.
- Kid Mode. Give children a simple place to watch the content that has already been approved.
- Parent Mode with PIN protection. Keep family setup and management behind a parent-only entry point.
- Organization for family content. Keep approved content together so the list is easier to manage over time.
- A foundation for family controls. Premium features can add more control as the product grows.

Chapter 2: the Android release
At the time of this launch note, Android is the next release milestone. A separate Android availability post will be published after the production Google Play listing is publicly confirmed. This page remains a snapshot of the first release rather than claiming that both stores launched on the same day.
That separate Android announcement will link directly to Google Play and include the platform-specific availability details.
Chapter 3: what comes after both stores
This first release is the beginning of VioFamily. Feedback from families will guide improvements to setup, organization, playback, and the controls that help parents make the experience fit their home.
This first article is about the release timeline and what shipped. A later post will share the story behind why VioFamily was built and the family problem that led to it.
